Business Advisory Council
The Business Advisory Council (BAC) at the Northwestern University Transportation Center is comprised of senior-level executives representing all modes of transportation including shipper and carrier firms, freight forwarders and third party logistics providers, financial institutions, consulting firms, and trade associations. Unequaled by any academic transportation advisory board in the country, the BAC is a critical asset to the NU Transportation Center and a major factor in its long-term success.
BAC members serve as advisors to the Center, providing important real-world insights into the issues and problems they face in their businesses. This perspective is vital to the Center as it strives to shape its research and educational programs to best serve the changing needs of the dynamic transportation industry. BAC membership is divided into four categories – Leadership, Sustaining, Association, and Individual. Leadership members are corporations that have shown exceptional levels of commitment in their support of the Center’s activities; Sustaining member firms provide essential support for the Center. The Council also benefits from the involvement of key transportation-related Associations. Each category entails a set of membership benefits, as well as a suggested level of financial support and commitment.
Benefits to all members include access to Northwestern’s world-class faculty, opportunities for networking with industry peers, invitations and involvement in special programs and events, insights into cutting-edge research and industry trends, and access to Northwestern’s renowned Transportation Library and its bright student population.
