Innovation in an Age of Globalization

Michael L. Eskew
Chairman and CEO
United Parcel Service, Inc.

Mike Eskew serves as chairman and chief executive officer of UPS, the world’s largest package delivery company and a global leader in supply chain services.

Under Eskew’s direction, UPS is expanding its capabilities into new lines of business that complement the company’s global delivery operations. UPS is developing increasingly sophisticated solutions for its customers by synchronizing the movement of goods, information and funds. These expanded capabilities include multi-modal transportation services, sophisticated technologies, international trade management, supply chain consulting and financial services.

Eskew, only the ninth chairman and chief executive in UPS's 96-year history, began his career with UPS 32 years ago as an industrial engineering manager in Indiana. At that time UPS was operating in 37 states and had $1 billion in revenues. Today the company, known as "Brown" in his advertisements, operates in more than 200 countries and boasts revenues of over $33 billion per year.
