ISEN Awards Hani Mahmassani Booster Award for Proposed Research on Roadway Emissions and Energy Costs

The Initiative for Sustainability and Energy at Northwestern (ISEN) has awarded Hani Mahmassani, Director of the Transportation Center, an ISEN Booser Award for his proposal titled, “Emissions and Energy Costs in Marginal Cost Congestion Pricing for Roadways.”

ISEN Booster Awards are granted to research proposals that address significant unmet needs in the areas of energy and sustainability.  Funding is awarded to novel, high-risk ideas and those that foster new interdisciplinary efforts and collaborations across NU.  ISEN co-directors, David Dunand and Mark Ratner announced the award and thanked Mahmassani for his leadership toward advancing the areas of energy and sustainability at Northwestern University.  

ISEN is an organization that supports NU’s research, teaching and outreach activities in the areas of energy and sustainability.  Their mission is to create, advance and communicate new science, technology and policy for sustainability and energy, with a particular focus on sustainable energy supply, demand and use.  The Transportation Center partners with ISEN in identifying areas of mutual interest and in the development of joint research projects focusing on transportation-related issues and concerns.
