Established in 1952, Wilbur Smith Associates is an international transportation and infrastructure consulting firm providing professional services in the fields of engineering, planning, and economics. We currently have opportunities for Transportation Modelers to work in our New Haven, CT office.

Transportation Analyst
The Transportation Analyst will work under the direction of senior staff to develop databases. Workload includes modeling and programming. Minimum requirements include a Bachelors Degree in Transportation Engineering or a related field; experience on transportation projects and experience with Tranplan, CORSIM and/or VISSIM preferred. Requires excellent communication skills.

Transportation Analyst

Minimum requirements include a Bachelors Degree in Transportation Engineering or a related field and 1-3 years experience on transportation projects and experience with TRANPLAN, CORSIM and/or VISSIM. Requires excellent communication skills.

Transportation Analyst/Modeler
This position will perform travel demand modeling and forecasting activities for transportation planning studies incorporating the motorist’s willingness to pay a user fee or toll. The position will also develop, install, or modify transportation planning models. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Transportation or Urban Planning, Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation Planning, or related field and two years’ relevant transportation modeling experience. Must be detail oriented. Requires strong computer skills using TransCAD, TRANPLAN CORSIM, and VISIM. Experience with Citilabs (CUBE/TP+) a plus.

Sr. Transportation Analyst
This position will perform a range of transportation planning activities and studies for transit and transportation projects such as corridor studies, travel demand modeling, highway capacity analysis, transport policy analysis, economic impact studies, etc. The position will also research and collect project related data, conduct interviews with government agencies and clients, assemble and manage data, complete and document analytical studies, write reports, prepare for and participate in client and public information meetings and hearings. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Transportation or Urban Planning or Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation Planning and two years’ relevant transportation planning experience. Must be detail oriented with strong analytical skills and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to use CORSIM and VISIM is required. AICP or PE registration is a plus.
