Planning Analyst - Metra
Metra, the corporation responsible for public commuter rail system in the Northeastern Illinois ( Chicago area) is recruiting for a Planning Analyst. This position is a full-time entry level management job that is part of Metra's College Recruitment Program.
This position provides support to commuter rail planning activities, utilizing a broad range of planning techniques from highly qualitative, “issues oriented” analysis. Participates in commuter rail corridor planning studies. Implements travel demand forecasting models, data bases and other activities. Participates in selection, calibration and refinement of travel demand forecasting models. Performs data base/development, statistical analysis and other quantitative/qualitative methods of planning and policy analysis as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or related filed, with emphasis on transportation planning. A Master's degree is preferred. Must possess experience with software applications in at least (4) of the following six (6) areas: Spreadsheet, Word Processing, Statistical Analysis, Transportation Planning, Computer Programming or Data Management. Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills. Must possess the ability to read and comprehend technical materials.
Metra offers a stable working environment with no out of town traveling. The salary for this position is $39,493 per year with paid benefits.
